My history with WordPress stretches over a decade. Every time I revisit, it becomes more and more streamlined. Much of that is the advancement in the technology but also my own skill set and understanding.
Recently I’ve been working a lot with AWS architecture. I leaned a bit into those skills to eliminate a lot of the overhead I used to have with developing a LAMP stack server to host the WordPress app.
These days much of the busy work has been condensed using Bitnami AMIs in the AWS marketplace. Add in a bunch of great documentation and you’re eliminating 90% of what used to be a manual multi-day project.
Historically, I’ve relished in the technical depths of the WordPress architecture. I’d feel like I was creating something important. Learning the intricacies of a stack of Linux services, working together to host a great platform.. Only to have the blog project never become an actual thing. I’d be burnt out; thus missing the true reason I was creating such a platform in the first place.
To write.
In the technical hangover of my accomplishments, I no longer had the ambition or vision of actually contributing to a blog. Yet like the times before today, I revisit this world of grammatical failures and spelling errors. With a greater sense of importance in having another channel for my writing.
In offline channels, I’ve started collecting volumes of journal entries, and outlining of talking points. This has been therapeutic, and also reassuring, that this medium I’ve always seen potential for refuge is finally finding a way to claw out of mind.
I’m looking forward to refining my own genuine authenticity in life, work, and play. Cheers to what the future holds. What words can contribute, to help heal the world into its new normal?
